DESCRIPTION:Join our nettle party and learn how to make nutritious\, organic fertiliser from nettles\, comfrey\, seaweed\, coffee grounds and banana peel! \n\nLearn how to identify and forage wild plants that you can use to boost your garden.\nUnderstand the benefits and properties of each ingredient\, their chemical composition\, and how they affect the different kinds of plants that you grow.\nCompare the techniques of steeping\, pressing and composting to create fertiliser.\nTry some delicious nettle-based food.\nMeet fellow wild food and organic gardening enthusiasts.\nProbably get stung by nettles.\n\nYou’ll leave with a bottle of concentrated fertiliser that you can use on your garden or houseplants right away! \nWhat to bring: \n\nAs many banana peels as you can save in the week before.\nA bottle or jar to take home liquid fertiliser.\nYour own gardening gloves if you have them.\nA flask of water to drink.\n\nA light lunch will be provided\, but feel free to bring your own lunch or snacks if you would like. \nWe’ll meet in Ravenscraig Park\, which has uneven paths and may be muddy or slippery. Please wear suitable shoes! \nThis is a sliding-scale donation-based workshop! Everyone is welcome\, even if you don’t have funds to pay at the moment. If you do\, please consider: \n\nDonating £5 to cover our basic costs.\nDonating £10 to help us provide workshops to people who are less able to afford it.\nDonating £15 to support this workshop and our other Seed Library events and activities.
