DESCRIPTION:Grown too much? Not enough? Come along to our Spring Seed[ling] Swap to trade your seedlings and seeds\, find out more about seed saving\, and meet a local community of growers. Drop in and stay for as long as you like. We’re running this in partnership with the Dunfermline Plant Swap & Share and EATS Rosyth. \nWhat to bring: \n\nExcess plants that you have bought\, propagated or germinated yourself. Flowers\, vegetables and houseplants are all welcome!\nOpen pollinated (plants pollinated naturally by birds\, insects\, wind\, or human hands) locally saved or excess-bought seeds.\n\nPlease don’t bring genetically engineered plants\, F1 hybrids\, anything poisonous or noxious\, and no controlled seeds. Make sure you know what the seeds and plants you are bringing are! \nWe’ll provide: \n\nEnvelopes and labels for seeds.\nSpace to relax and chat to fellow growers.\nQ&A about seed saving.\n\nYou’ll also have the opportunity to become a member and deposit seeds into the Fife Seed Library. \nThis event is possible thanks to a grant from the FCCAN Seed & Development Fund. \nAccess info to follow.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for the official launch of the Fife Seed Library. \nWe’ll be screening short films to introduce you to the importance of saving seeds\, sharing some homemade light bites\, and welcoming representatives from other seed libraries around Scotland to share their experiences and take part in a discussion. \nWe’ll unveil our brand new Seed Library cabinet and you’ll be able to join the Seed Library as a member. \nWe’d love for you to come along if you are: \n\nA home gardener or grower\, part of a community garden\, public greenspace\, or a market garden in Fife\nInterested in learning more about seed saving and everything related to it\nCurious about how to build community around a seed library\n\nEveryone is welcome\, no experience with seed saving is needed! \nWe’re excited to welcome Rowan from Glasgow Seed Library\, Lisa of the North Edinburgh Seed Savers\, Lauriston Farm\, and the Scottish Seed Hub\, Margaret and Alex from Perthshire Seed Library\, and Efi from Dawson Park Community Garden in Dundee to share their knowledge and experience of seed saving and community growing. In our discussion\, we’ll be able to answer questions about growing and seed saving\, to talk about our hopes for seed sovereignty in Fife\, and get your input into our plans for the Seed Library. \nPlease RSVP to guarantee a place\, as space is limited. \nThis event has been funded by the FCCAN Seed & Development Fund! \nTimetable (approx)\n5pm: arrivals\, tea/coffee \n5:15pm: welcome! \n5:30pm: short film screenings \n6:30pm: film reflections\, light bites and chance to chat \n7pm: seed saving Q&A and Seed Library future plans \n8pm: fin! \nAccess information\nOur venue is the Kirkcaldy Galleries meeting room. This is right next to Kirkcaldy train station and five minutes from the bus station. \n\nStep-free access to the meeting room through the main entrance to the building\nAccessible toilets\, including a changing place\, are on the same level as the meeting room\nThe signage is designated Dementia Friendly\, featuring clear wording and images to support\nThe meeting room is well lit with natural light with blinds to create the right lighting needed.

Registration is optional if you don’t need equipment and just want to come for the workshop. \nThis event is free thanks to FCCAN and the Fife Climate Festival!
